This past weekend, I acquired a remote shutter trigger and decided to take a self portrait. Not usually being on that side of the camera and being a little out of my comfort zone, I thought long and hard about where to shoot and what to wear. Now, what would you do if you had a nice camera, tripod, shutter trigger, free time, and a brightly colored unicorn onesie? (Yes, I have a unicorn onesie. It was a very comfy halloween costume.) I hope you would take silly self portraits in a field with some comical balloons, because that is exactly what I did. It was a beautiful day, so my location of choice was flooded with hikers. People questioned, pointed, laughed, and took cell phone pictures of me. A few chatted and observed me struggling in the ocasional gusts of wind, so I requested jokes in exchange for their entertainment. One man's response was, "Are we living one?" It was an enjoyable afternoon. The message I have in mind for this shoot is, "Just be yourself", whatever that means to you, whatever other people may think. Have fun, don't take yourself too seriousely, and love yourself. You are rare and magical!
Have a wonderful week and comment where you want to see The Unicorn next!

Disclaimer: This week's blog entry contains images that are more edgy than the family portraits I usually post. If you do not wish to see fake blood/scar makeup and a villainous situation, carry on and have a lovely day. It gives me great pleasure to start the year off by presenting this shoot. As I enjoy diversifying my portfolio, I've always taken a great interest in cosplay photography and love presenting characters in a suitable environment. If you're at all familiar with the game Outlast, you know an abandoned church, in northern Oregon, on a chilling winter evening was the perfect environment.
I teamed up with the amazing cosplay duo, Jack and Marco. The two do fantastic work on their own and colaborate like a dream. Marco portrayed Waylon Park and Jack portrayed Eddie Gluskin, who "ruthlessly pursued" Waylon. Follow them on Instagram: Marco- @camccco Jack- @jelly_bat No, I didn't misspell the title. The soon to be groom of this adorable engagement's last name is Hart. I couldn't resist!
Last month, I got to tag along while these two donned matching outfits from Gresham's very own Bernie Dexter and took an evening walk. Complete with dancing in the park, this truely was a classy and romantic evening. Is it Tuesday already?
The holidays are coming and keeping me busy! I welcome them with much excitement for all the fun excuses for portraits, like Christmas cards, presents and such. I did get to take a nice walk with my husband the other day, or rather I said, "The fog looks so cool! come with me!" I'm so lucky he humors and allows my constant documentation of our adventures. Here are some photos of our walk up Powell Butte in some lovely fog that melted into rain. Our star this week is my husband's adorible pup, Moxie! Part lab, part pit, part pure joy. Peter got Moxie when she was just a tiny, pot bellied, baby that could fit in your hand. Though she has grown immensely, she has always remained his goofy little baby. Here are some puppy portraits I took during an afternoon game of fetch. I threw in a couple of my husband of course! Enjoy! Puppy portraits can be included in family sessions.

Part 2 of this week has a little more content. Grace and I had fun wandering around Main City Park, finding warm colored backdrops, and playing with the pretty leaves. Enjoy these brilliant fall colors and have a lovely weekend! Happy Monday everyone! This week is a two parter. I got to do two portrait sessions with my lovely sister in law. This first shoot was captured in the comfort of her own backyard. Backyard shoots are nice and convenient travel wise and it's always easier to give a natural smile in a place where you feel comfortable. We utilized shaded areas and played with the bright sunlight. Her purple locks and green eyes pair amazingly with the glow of autumn. Enjoy these portraits and keep an eye out for part 2! Part 2 arriving later this week!
Autumn is in full swing and it is beautiful! The leaves have changed, the rain is here, and so is the beloved pumpkin spice latte (for those that enjoy sweet coffee beverages). Among the various pumpkin flavored things that can surface this time of year, social media is flooded with pictures of actual pumpkins as well. To celebrate the yearly phenomenon, I decided to take some portraits at a pumpkin patch. Modeling, was my 7 month old nephew, accompanied by his mother. They were sporting some adorable fall fashions, including a hand crocheted beanie by Bombay Crochet! Enjoy these highlights from our little adventure and prepare for a cuteness overload. Book a shoot to get photos like this with your little munchkin!
